Since searching through my blog recently, I’ve come to the realisation that I have not posted a haul in a while! So of course when I made a quick trip to my local Superdrug the other day, I knew I just had to share what I picked up with you guys. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t go overboard like I usually do, instead I only brought a few products that I have been wanting to try out for a while along with having the chance to share them with you.
Despite many years I have been involved in the makeup industry, hundreds of makeup looks created, and hours of watching makeup artists create what seems to be impossible masterpieces… I still cannot grasp how on earth to apply fake eyelashes. No matter how many times I sit in silence, with my tweezers in one hand and the glue in my other. Somehow I undoubtedly always manage to end up with one eyelash on my nose and the other buried deep within my hair. Basically, applying fake eyelashes have never been my forte, and I’m sure they never will be unless I get given a miracle over night. (Never going to happen!) Although this is the case, I still don’t give up hope that one day I’m going to excel at being the next Tati, as she applies those lashes before you can even take a breath. To help me with this goal, I decided to pick up some Superdrug LASH false lashes, as they were the cheapest and I knew if I wasn’t going to get on with them, I didn’t want to have wasted a big amount of money.
The first set being Volume Edition #21, these are created to add a sense of volume and length to the lashes. Finely separated, the lashes don’t add too much heaviness to your natural hairs which is one aspect of a lash product I look for! These were priced at £2.79, originally £4.19.
The other set of lashes I picked up are a little bit different, due to creating intense and dramatic volume to the natural hairs. Superdrug states on their packaging that these will accentuate your eyes and create a dramatic look. Worth a try right? Just like the first set of lashes, these were also priced at £2.79, originally £4.19.
The next product is one I’ve been lacking in for quite some time. Although I have lots of lipsticks and lipglosses, I have found that I do not have any lip liners. Simply because I have not been interested in trying them out. That was however until I came across a few celebrities showing off how it makes your lips look fuller and tidier, so I thought why join in on the hype and see what all the fuss is about. Before I talk about the lipliners though, I want to put a quick disclaimer out there that these are not cruelty free. And so I will not be repurchasing them again, I was not aware that MaxFactor test on animals, as I was told they don’t. This is why you should do your own research if you’re looking at going cruelty free!
With all that done and said, I did end up picking up two different colours from Max Factor’s range of lipliners. The first one is in the shade Brown & Bold 16, although the colour is definitely not brown and instead it is more on the lines of a deep Red. So, whoever chose the names for these colours, obviously hadn’t had their annual visit to SpectSavers! Despite this I am deeply in love with the application of these liners, straight away they went on smoothly and without any toughness to the lips. However, I did notice there was a bit of crumbling on the first application but after that there was nothing that made me sit in disgust. I also picked up another one of these liners, in the shade Mauve Moment 6. Both of these cost me £4.99 each. Which is pretty affordable for the amount you receive!
The last product I picked up, was one I had been hearing about for a very long time! This one in particular has received a lot of different reactions. Some good, some bad. Yes, ladies and gentleman I finally gave in and brought the Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser Concealer in the shade 01 light. I’m looking forward to what improvements this gives in my everyday makeup routine. Maybe, just maybe I’ll look like I’ve had a few hours sleep! Wouldn’t that just be amazing! For £8.99 I really hope this is worth all of the different debates i’ve seen floating around the beauty world. The only thing I’m not to keen about is the applicator, but we shall see how long this lasts through all of the correcting. There’s a lot!
That is all I picked up on my Superdrug splurge Darlings! I definitely don’t spend as much as I used to do on makeup, simply because I don’t wear it as often. That being said I still sometimes like to pick up the latest trends out there, and share my thoughts and opinions with all of you! Please let me know if you would like to see a review on any of these products shared today! And I’ll be sure to follow up on that for you. Until next time lovelies, bye! xo
