Recently I’ve been one of the many people out there who have found themselves getting into a routine when looking after the face. Many of my acne and face problems is a result of stress, lack of sleep and probably too many coca-colas! So, taking good care of my skin especially in this warm weather, is very important! Although the process of this can be very time consuming and annoying, I have found if I focus on taking five minutes out of my day to hydrate, moisturise and rejuvenate specific areas then I usually end up with a clearer more spot free canvas to manage.
One thing in particular that I enjoy doing every week is having the chance to apply a different face mask just before I begin my cleansing routine. I like to do this because it helps to unclog any pores and remove the first layer of dirt before I continue on. After seeing that L’oreal have recently came out with a new skincare mask, I was eager to get my hands on it and see the results. After all, this meant that I could add one more to my every expanding collection! What more could a girl want, right?!
For the first time in L’oreal history, their very own Laboratories have selected three Pure Clays and combined them with Marine Algae extract, known for its anti-blemish properties. With five different masks designed to tackle different troubled areas, they are perfect for everyone and anyone who may be experiencing more than a few bad skin days! Whether you’re having trouble exfoliating, your pores aren’t unclogging or you just need a little enlightenment added to your face there is bound to be one for you!
When I was sat pondering in front of the Superdrug shelf, I was undeceive as to which one I desperately needed. Mainly down to the fact that my skin has suffered from situations like breakouts all the way to loss of colour. However, one thing I’ve been experiencing a lot lately is the fact that my pores are becoming more trapped behind different makeup products and so I am left with many spots which don’t leave for what could be many, many months. This started to leave my feeling really low and desperate to find something that would get rid of the breakouts for good, or at least a month or so! Just before I was about to give up on the search to look for a product that would help me out, I was met with one specific item in particular that left me wondering. Is this actually real!? Is this going to be the moment where I solve all of my unanswered questions as to why my skin has become so bad recently? Only I could find the answers to those questions, so I picked out my chosen face mask, payed for it at the desk and brought it back home with me.
I decided to go with the Blemish Rescue Mask, because it was designed to help clear and unclog pores, which was what I desperately needed!
The moment I caught eyes on this mask, I fell in love with the packaging. The overall amount of effort that was taken to produce such a quality looking box was a huge bonus for me! Of course you have the standardised L’oreal Paris logo printed across the front which is closely followed by the name of the chosen mask. Everything is clearly presented and has everything you need on it, especially useful if you’re someone who is weary of what you’re in store for. On the back is a diagram showing you where you can apply the product, just incase you’re confused. This is quite common I think, as a lot of other ones I have tried are only meant to be applied onto the T-zone and chin area. So, this was really helpful and helped me understand where in fact it was meant to go. Another part of the box that I found was a very useful addition was the range of masks they sell and what they help do to the skin. Just incase you’re unable to go online and search it up! Underneath that is a instructional how to use paragraph, which shows you how to effectively and safety use their product! Simple and clear.
When I first opened the lid, I was intrigued as to how this thick substance would actually become dry and do what it says on the box. Being quite thick, I didn’t think it was going to dry in the time it said and instead I’d be left with somewhat of a wet and sticky mess! On the other hand, one thing I wasn’t worried about was the colour. This was one thing that made me mesmerised and eager to try it out in the first place. The photos you are seeing are not edited and instead that is exactly what it appears like in real life – beautiful!
For 50ml I was unsure that was going to be able to give me 10 applications, but later on after using it, I found that a little definitely goes a long way! All you need is one brush stroke into the jar and away you go, possibly needing to come back for one or two more if necessary!
How I Got On & Results So Far!
After using this for near enough four weeks now, I have found enormous progress when it comes to having less spots and overall healthier skin. The estimated time that L’oreal suggests for having it on your face is 5-10 minutes, however I like to allow it to settle for just under 15. This is simply because my skin isn’t the easiest to get through, and it is able to take the formula on there for a bit longer. This may not be the case for you, so please just begin with the time given and if you feel you need to increase it, then do it at your own caution! Once the time is up, I then run my face under warm water and wash it off with my bare hands. I don’t like to scrub with any flannel or towel, due to my skin being very sensitive and irritant to a lot of tugging and pulling. After that I get a soft towel and pat dry the wet areas, until everything is dry and clean! Straight away I am met with a more refreshed and relaxed feeling instead of the tense and tightened one beforehand. Two weeks ago on Saturday 12th May I recorded to have five spots, two blemishes and a lot of redness on both cheeks. Now after using it four times since then, I have noticed to only have two major spots, a small area on my cheek which has shown some spots and redness (I get that come up, when I am stressed; so nothing connected to the ingredients of this product) and no redness on the cheeks! Overall, I am beyond impressed with the improvements this product has given me, compared to cheaper alternatives. Yes, it is still being classed as affordable at only £6.00, but compared to the £1 ones I used to buy from Boots, this is definitely more useful in my opinion.
Maybe your opinion is different? If so, let me know down below your thoughts, as I’d love to know what you prefer instead! Since I am coming to the end of yet another review, let me know what you thought of this and if you are eager to try it out yourself! If not, why? I’m always open to hearing what you think. I hope you all have an amazing week and until next time lovelies, bye! xo
